"The Lost Symbol" is at a loss of mysteries.

As soon as I come to know of the novel's release, I couldn't help myself not to think about it. The feeling is "When can I lay my hands on it". Finally, unable to get the novel, I read the e book version in my mobile. The starting of the novel itself has similarities to Da Vinci Code. While a man is dead in DVC, here a man's hand alone exhibited from which both the novels starts adventurous racing. Langdon is helped by woman's related to the victims in both novels as granddaughter and sister. Like any other Brown's novel, there is always two plots running parallel which is boring. I mean why can't he have multiple plots.

Also the villain character is not similar but same as in "Red Dragon". A person who already read Red Dragon cannot help but to think of Francis Dolarhyde whenever the villain comes in picture . It's because the villain Dolarhyde is more lively in readers mind because of Thomas Harris's splendid work. When I wikiped it, the opinion is same with many readers.

And for God's sake, brown simply hides the truth which is already there and reveals it later to call it as a mystery. He do this to me right from his first novel itself which I can't take it anymore. But for other facets, I would tell that the novel has usual crypts, conspiracies, etc.
Brown could have done it better. I would give a rating of 3 out of 5.
